Insite Investigations conducts carefully planned and legally compliant undercover operations in which one of our trained investigators integrates into your workplace environment as a temporary employee, contractor, or vendor. Operating under a carefully constructed cover identity, our investigator observes and documents misconduct firsthand — gathering evidence that would be impossible to obtain through external surveillance or records review alone.

Undercover operations require meticulous planning and execution. The cover identity must be credible and consistent. The investigator must be able to build rapport with coworkers without arousing suspicion, navigate the social dynamics of the workplace, and document findings accurately without compromising their cover or the integrity of the investigation. Our investigators are experienced professionals who have conducted undercover operations across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, retail, food service, healthcare, and logistics.

Common scenarios for undercover operations include: theft of cash, merchandise, or inventory by employees; drug use or distribution in the workplace; harassment or hostile work environment that employees are reluctant to report; systematic timecard fraud or buddy punching; and organized internal fraud involving multiple employees. Throughout the operation, our investigator maintains regular contact with our case management team, and all findings are documented in detailed contemporaneous notes that form the basis of a comprehensive final report.
